With 2024 rapidly drawing to a close, it’s time to look back at this year to see if there are obvious indicators of just where the real estate markets in Door and Kewaunee Counties are headed.
Statistics garnered from the Door County Multiple Listing Service (MLS) indicate a continued very strong housing market accompanied by other types of real estate properties such as vacant land (inland & waterfront), condos (residential, hotel, vacant land and storage), commercial, etc.
First let’s look at the overall result of sales for the first 11 months of this year. Median price and volume are typically the best measures of the health of real estate activity for any real estate market. Here in Door and Kewaunee Counties we find solid numbers that point to a very healthy overall market.
Gone are the unbalanced market indicators showing a highly inflated market where prices soared 30% and 26% respectively in 2022 and 2023. Here through the first 11 months of 2024, we find median price up a reasonable 8%. This is certainly a much more reasonable increase in values and a good indicator for the market in 2025. Median price increased from $306,600 to $330,600.
Here at ERA Starr Realty, we are diligent in monitoring real estate activity on a week-to-week basis in order to be right “up-to-the-minute” in assisting our customers and clients with their real estate decisions. We continue to be “Always There For You”.
Here’s wishing everyone a very joyous holiday season!
