August continued the resurgence from the second quarter slide that the real estate industry suffered as a result of the virus. Although the devastating virus continues, the real estate market has decided to move ahead and continue the very positive results of the last few years for real estate sales.
The vitals for August show 145 sales (most in last 7 years) and 32% more than the 110 sales in 2019. Year-to-date median price also climbed from $157,750 last year to $168,500 so far in 2020. That’s a solid 7% jump.
As long as we are talking median price, here is a breakdown on the difference in median prices in Northern Door, Southern Door and Kewaunee County:
Area | 2019 Median Price | 2020 Median Price | Difference |
Northern Door | $184,000 | $227,450 | +24% |
Southern Door | $154,000 | $166,250 | +8% |
Kewaunee Co. | $118,500 | $148,500 | +25% |
The number of sales for Kewaunee was the same at 72. Northern Door sales increased from 349 to 376 while Southern Door decreased from 247 sales to 232 sales.
It is important to point out that Southern Door and Kewaunee County to some extent suffer from an extreme shortage of properties for sale while Northern Door inventory is much more in balance.
