Door County Multiple Listing System
After the very cruel winter we survived, it appears that the real estate markets in Door and Kewaunee Counties have gotten back on pace. In fact it is remarkable how close all the vital statistics match up with 2013.
August real estate sales show a mild decrease in the number of sales from 97 in 2013 to 89 this year. That’s an 8% decrease. Volume increased over this same period from $19.0 million to $19.3 million, up 2%.
With that decrease in number of sales and increase in volume we have a rather substantial increase in median price for the month of August: $132,500 in 2013 compared to $170,000 this year.
Looking year to date, January through August we find a much more moderate increase in median price. 2013 checks in at $134,900 compared to this year’s median price at $137,500. That’s a 2% increase.
Year to date numbers for sales volume and number of sales are basically unchanged from 2013: 505 sales in 2013 compared to 506 this year, and volume was down from $94.8 million in 2013 to $93.9 million this year.
Perhaps we are experiencing the “new normal” we keep hearing about.
