Thanks to a very strong June, the first six months of this year are just about identical to the first 6 months of last year, which was a very good year for the real estate markets in Door and Kewaunee counties.
June 2016 checked in with 109 sales for a total volume of $22.1 million. Median price for the month was an unusually high $198,500. June of 2015 comparatively accounted for 95 sales, $18.6 million in volume and a median price of $165,000.
Year to date for the first half of 2016 the total number of sales recorded was 384 compared to 382 in 2015. Talk about a modest increase! But remember, 2015 was a very good “continued recovery” year. Median price for those same 6 months in 2015 was $140,500 compared to the 2016 median price of $137,500. That’s a very modest decrease of 2%.
Overall we continue to be encouraged by the activity in the Door-Kewaunee markets. The sale of inland residential homes was down a bit from 163 in 2015 to 153 this year, but we did see a nice increase in median price from $141,000 last year to 145 so far this year.
For the first time since the mid 2000’s we see a definite shortage in inventory of available homes for sale. We are also seeing multiple offers on many attractively priced homes in desirable locations.
ERA Starr Realty has again excelled in leading the sales activity for the first half of 2016. Our Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay offices have delivered 84 “listings sold” while the second leading agency checks in with 48 sales. We also lead in MLS in total volume. Our agents are ready, willing and very able to help you with any of your real estate needs. Give us a call…”We are Always there For You!”
