Past President of the Door County Board of REALTORS and its Multiple Listing System. Recipient of the Gale Zahn Distinguished Service Award. Door County Board of Realtors REALTOR of the Year Award in 1978. Wisconsin REALTORS Honor Society. Fox Valley Alumnus of the year in 2002 from UW-Milwaukee. Served on Door County Chamber of Commerce, Door County Economic Development Corporation and other community organizations. Coached youth sports for 17 years. Awarded “REALTOR EMERITUS” status in 2010 by National Association of Realtors for 40 years in the real estate business.
Born and raised in Door County. Graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School in 1962; graduate of University of Milwaukee in 1967 with Bachelors Degree in economics with emphasis on real estate. Passed the state real estate sales and broker’s exam in 1969 and went to work for Starr Realty. In 1975, purchased Starr Realty from father, Virgil Starr, who founded the company in 1954. In 2002, merged with ERA Shoreside Realty and created Door County’s Powerhouse Real Estate Agency, ERA Starr Realty.
Active in development sales, commercial and business transactions, as well as all types of residential and vacant land sales.
