Real estate sales in Door and Kewaunee Counties remain on a very steady course as we move toward the end of 2024. The markets continue to be dominated by high prices and low inventory leading to an expected difficult market for buyers and often a bonanza for sellers.
The numbers do not lie. Since the start of 2022, we have seen median price for real estate in the Door-Kewaunee markets skyrocket. In just three years the median price for real estate increased 94%, moving from $170,000 to $329,900.
The number of sales in September beginning in 2022 checked in at 120 followed by 99 in 2023 and 98 here in 2024. Dollar volume for these three years starting in 2022 was $48.2 million, $48.1 million for 2023, and $51.0 million this year.
All the numbers in this report reflect real estate sales for all types of property from residential (inland and shorefront) to commercial to vacant land (inland and shorefront) to condominiums, etc.
The price variance moves from the lower end to a much higher end as we move from Kewaunee County properties to sales in the northern sectors of Door County.
